I’ve been looking for a small footprint external DVD drive since my MacBook Pro’s superdrive started rejecting any kind of disc that I feed to it. I have a Plextor PX-708UF but it is so bulky and it requires a power adapter that adds to the bulk.

So, I was looking and found this SLIM DVD Burner with USB 2.0 connection. DIGISTOR DVD brand is not popular as Samsung or Sony and the thing is expensive, too. But when I looked at the specs I saw that it has a Panasonic DVD optical drive inside and it also has a rechargeable internal battery for long data burning sessions
I need security when burning backups of my multi-track audio sessions. These multi-track sessions can run up at least 4GBs per song, imagine 12 tracks of drums, 2 tracks of bass, at least tracks of guitar, and so on and so forth. At sample rates of 48Khz and bit rate of 24, we’re talking lots of GIGs in data capacity. This self-powered DVD burner is a perfect complement to my mobile data recording and backup needs on my MacBook Pro.
My bro “Jayson” is a certified rap freak and rhyme wiz, he’s an upcoming MC with much promise. On this vid he couldn’t wait to share his great rhyme work on an unfinished track for the sabungero cockfighting flick. the tune ain’t done yet, we gonna pretty it up some more, dirty it up a bit with some horns, strings and maybe lots of atmos and ambience from the cockpits.
Sabungero is about the game of cockfighting in the Philippines. The main actors are Joel Torre, Ricky Davao and Maritoni Fernandez together with a stellar supporting cast Syd Lucero, Robert Arevalo, Noni Buencamino and Leo Martinez among others. Produced by Sabong.net.Ph - this independently produced movie will be shown at SM commercial theaters in the last week of September.
For the movie’s sound and score, sound co-producer and audio engineer Jonathan Reynera did a lot of re-recordings of sounds and noises by chickens, in cockfighting action, and the sound of the cockpits with people and bettors shouting their bets and reactions before and after a fight. There was also a bit of custom foley sounds recorded to really embellish particular scenes.
Moise is a French-Moroccan singer and keyboardist who sings in French, Portuguese, Spanish and English languages. His music features a unique blend of global music styles and world beats into his own distinctive musical signature. You name it, bossa nova, samba, Latin and reggae music, French chanteuse/chanson, to jazz and modern dance… Moise has it covered on this CD.

Rakrakan presents “Blues N Rock N Roll Bash”, an evening of blues rock music mixed with classic rock and roll at 19East Music Hall on Saturday, June 6, 2009.
This exciting gig at 19East Music Hall features young Pinoy blues rockers Dr. Crowley, Crowjane and Blue Jean Junkies who will deliver their own takes on blues rock classics as well as their original Pinoy rock compositions.
Fans of The Allman Brothers, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eric Clapton, ACDC and more classic rock tunes will surely be in for a musical treat. Dr. Crowley is a blues-rock band from Cavite that plays classic tunes from Lynyrd Skynyrd and ACDC. Dr. Crowley’s debut CD “Rock N Roll Heart N Soul” is coming out in July from Rebolusyon Rekords. Crowjane is fronted by model crooner Nicole Ascencio who will treat the crowd with their rendition of Janis Joplin and Sampaguita classics. Blue Jean Junkies fronted by Nino Mendoza plays raunchy classic rock orignials.
